🥪 A third Jersey Mike’s Subs location is proposed for State College, with plans submitted for a new 1,500 square foot establishment including 21 parking spots at 430 Shiloh Road. The site is currently unoccupied and located in a general commercial zone. The College Township Planning Commission, which convenes on the first and third Tuesdays monthly, is reviewing the plan submitted on October 23. Matt Patterson, who oversees multiple Jersey Mike’s franchises in Central Pennsylvania, confirms the new site is still in early planning stages but represents an opportunity to expand to that part of town. 🔥 College Avenue in Spring Township was closed for several hours on Saturday evening due to a two-alarm fire. Emergency services were called to a significant garage fire in the 200 block of East College Avenue in Pleasant Gap. The fire led to the temporary evacuation of the homeowner and a neighbor, although no adjacent homes were damaged and no serious injuries were reported. The garage was completely destroyed, but the homeowner was able to return to his house the same night, according to Pleasant Gap Fire Company Chief Robert Silvis. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. [Centre Daily Times via Yahoo]
