State College restaurants cited for food safety violations

Two State College restaurants recently failed health inspections due to multiple food safety violations.
El Jefe's Taqueria, located at 352 E Calder Way, was cited for improper cooling and storage temperatures. And some meat products were held above 41°F in the walk-in cooler, putting them at risk for bacterial growth.
All compromised items were discarded while the sanitarian was on site and employees were educated on “proper cooling”.
Teadori, located at 454 E College Ave, also had multiple violations, including dirty floors and walls, a non-service dog present in the dining room area, and raw meats stored improperly above ready-to-eat items. Additionally, raw chicken was found thawing unsafely in standing water.
Both restaurants will need to pass reinspection to regain compliance.
