Senior Penn State executive accused of strangling woman

Keith Brautigam, Penn State University’s interim VP for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, has been charged with felony strangulation following a physical altercation with a woman in Patton Township on Sunday.
The woman, who also suffered a broken tooth, reported to police that she had difficulty breathing and feared for her life during the incident.
Penn State has acknowledged the charges and placed Brautigam on administrative leave pending a legal hearing.
In addition to the felony charge, Brautigam also faces a misdemeanor count of harassment.
He was arraigned on Monday and released on $50,000 unsecured bail, with a preliminary hearing set for today.
