Penn State frat known as ‘Skulls’ suspended 4 years for hazing violations
Penn State University has suspended the Psi Chapter of Phi Kappa Sigma, also known as "Skulls," for a minimum of four years due to "widespread and pervasive hazing behavior."
The fraternity cannot request reinstatement until fall 2028 at the earliest.
The Office of Student Accountability and Conflict Response initially issued an interim suspension on Sept. 27, and after an appeal was denied, formalized the suspension on Oct. 10.
This chapter was previously placed on probation for hazing in 2018.
During the suspension, the fraternity loses its status as a recognized student organization and is barred from participating in any activities or events.
Phi Kappa Sigma is the second fraternity at Penn State to be suspended for hazing in less than a month, and one of eight currently suspended fraternities according to the university's most recent Greek Chapter Scorecard.
