📉 Rite Aid is set to close its location at 1927 S. Atherton St. in the Hills Plaza as part of a restructuring effort amid financial losses and opioid litigation. This closure is part of a second phase of 17 closures that were recently announced. The first phase of more than 150 store closures was announced back in October. Rite Aid has two other locations at N. Atherton St. and Westerly Parkway in State College and one on E. Bishop St. in Bellefonte. [Centre Daily Times via Yahoo]
🏗️ Centre County officials have begun preliminary work on the $30 million refurbishment of the former Centre Crest nursing home, with bidding on the project expected to start by year-end. The facility is set to become a human services facility which will also house the elections department. Work has already begun on a new roof for the building and the county is exploring private leases for some areas of the facility including a commercial kitchen. [WJAC]
