🚊 After a decade-long restoration process, the Bellefonte Historical Railroad Society is excited to announce the return of its self-powered rail car to the Bellefonte train station on Oct. 27. Rides on the train will start on Oct. 28 and 29, coinciding with the Talleyrand Fall Fest and the annual Halloween parade. Tickets for rides on Oct. 28 will be priced at $10 and will shuttle passengers between Milesburg and Axemann, with rides lasting around 30 minutes. On Oct. 29, tickets will cost $20 for a longer 90-minute "leaf-peeping" trip towards Dale Summit. The train, which seats 89 passengers, had undergone extensive mechanical repairs since 2014, with the project facing various challenges including unavailable parts throughout the restoration process. The restoration was primarily funded by a $295,000 grant from the state Department of Transportation. [Centre Daily Times via Aol]
